Preparation
- Download: Get the Windows zip from flamenco.blender.org.
- Extract: Unzip to
C:\Flamenco. - Storage Folder: Create a folder at
C:\Flamenco_Storage. This is where your frames and jobs will live.
Manager Setup (The Brain)
- Run Manager: Open
C:\Flamenco\flamenco-manager.exe. Keep the black window open. - Configure: Your browser will open to
http://localhost:8080. - Setup Assistant:
- Shared Storage Path: Enter
C:\Flamenco_Storage. - Blender Executable: Point to your
blender.exe(usually inC:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Your blender version\). - Finish: Click the final confirmation button.
- Shared Storage Path: Enter
Worker Setup (The Muscle)
- Run Worker: Open
C:\Flamenco\flamenco-worker.exe. - Verify: It should say “Logged in as [PC-NAME]”.
- Check Browser: In your browser (
localhost:8080), click the Workers tab. Your PC should appear as “Idle”.
Blender Integration
- Install Add-on:
- Download the zip from the top-right of the Flamenco web page.
- In Blender:
Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install(select the zip).
- Connect:
- In the Add-on settings, ensure the URL is
http://localhost:8080. - Click the Checkmark icon to verify the connection.
- In the Add-on settings, ensure the URL is
Rendering
- Save: Save your
.blendfile. - Submit:
- Go to the Output Properties tab (printer icon).
- Scroll to the Flamenco panel.
- Click Fetch Job Types > Submit to Flamenco.
- Monitor: Track progress via the browser window.
Note: If you want to use your PC while it renders, go to the Workers tab in your browser and reduce the Task Slots to 1 or 2 so it doesn’t use 100% of your CPU/GPU.
