Preparation

  • Download: Get the Windows zip from flamenco.blender.org.
  • Extract: Unzip to C:\Flamenco.
  • Storage Folder: Create a folder at C:\Flamenco_Storage. This is where your frames and jobs will live.

Manager Setup (The Brain)

  1. Run Manager: Open C:\Flamenco\flamenco-manager.exe. Keep the black window open.
  2. Configure: Your browser will open to http://localhost:8080.
  3. Setup Assistant:
    • Shared Storage Path: Enter C:\Flamenco_Storage.
    • Blender Executable: Point to your blender.exe (usually in C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Your blender version\).
    • Finish: Click the final confirmation button.

Worker Setup (The Muscle)

  1. Run Worker: Open C:\Flamenco\flamenco-worker.exe.
  2. Verify: It should say “Logged in as [PC-NAME]”.
  3. Check Browser: In your browser (localhost:8080), click the Workers tab. Your PC should appear as “Idle”.

Blender Integration

  1. Install Add-on:
    • Download the zip from the top-right of the Flamenco web page.
    • In Blender: Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install (select the zip).
  2. Connect:
    • In the Add-on settings, ensure the URL is http://localhost:8080.
    • Click the Checkmark icon to verify the connection.

Rendering

  1. Save: Save your .blend file.
  2. Submit:
    • Go to the Output Properties tab (printer icon).
    • Scroll to the Flamenco panel.
    • Click Fetch Job Types > Submit to Flamenco.
  3. Monitor: Track progress via the browser window.

Note: If you want to use your PC while it renders, go to the Workers tab in your browser and reduce the Task Slots to 1 or 2 so it doesn’t use 100% of your CPU/GPU.
